Rose Marie "Tootie" Blattel, 73, of Scott City died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
She was born Oct. 29, 1935, in New Hamburg, Mo., daughter of Barney and Anna Westrich Glastetter. She and Norman "Boss" Blattel were married June 30, 1956.

Rose was a salesclerk with J.C. Penney and at Venture in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo., and a member of St. Ann Sodality.

Survivors include her husband, Norman Blattel of Scott City; her mother, Anna Glastetter of New Hamburg; three sons, Darrel (Joan) Blattel of Scott City, Gerald (Marge) Blattel of Chaffee, Mo., Bradley Blattel of Scott City; four daughters, Sherry (Robert "Duncey") Dunseith of Moberly, Mo., Edie (Leon) Eeftink of Leopold, Mo., Mary (Jim) Chambers and Patsy (Dale "Red") Tenkhoff of Chaffee; three brothers, Melvin (Cecilia) Glastetter, Virgil (Sandy) Glastetter and Mike (Debbie) Glastetter, all of New Hamburg; a sister, Vickie (Jim) Eftink of Oran, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Glastetter of Peoria, Ill.

Also 15 grandchildren, Steven and Lucas Eeftink of Leopold, Andy (Amy) Blattel of Cape Girardeau, Ryan Blattel of Scott City, Jimmy, Nikki and John Chambers of Chaffee, Amy Blattel of Chaffee, Layton and Landon Tenkhoff of Chaffee, Brandon, Jessie, Jenna and Brittany Licare of Cape Girardeau, Kati Blattel of Scott City; and a great-grandchild, Owen Blattel of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Calvin Glastetter; and a great-grandchild, Lane Eden Blattel.

Pallbearers will be Steven Eeftink, Lucas Eeftink, Andy Blattel, Ryan Blattel, Jimmy Chambers and John Chambers.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg. Parish prayers will be at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mike McDevitt officiating and the Rev. Oliver Clavin assisting. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
