Rites Held for Mrs. C. Brown- Funeral services were held at 8:30 p.m. Monday in Kurrus Chapel for Mrs. Caroline Brown, 93 of 732A North Seventh street, who died Sunday in her home. She was a native of Georgetown [old name for part of Steeleville-REC], Ill. and had lived in East St. Louis 50 years.
The body was taken this morning to Cutler, Ill., where burial services were to be held.
She leaves five children Mrs. Mary Feree, Kansas City, Mo.; George R. Brown, Freeburg, Clarence L. Brown, DeSoto, Mo.; and J. Ira Brown and J. Frank Brown, both of East St. Louis. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Caroline was a daughter of George and Sarah Brown Thomason. She was married twice. Her first marriage was to Y. L. Campbell 25 March 1874 in Moultrie Co., IL. Her second marriage was to John F. Brown, 7 September 1881 in Moultrie Co.
