Born Oct. 20, 1900, in New London, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Mathilda Fischer Willey. On Aug. 18, 1918, she married Clarence Bertram "Red" Smith in New London. He died March 18, 1977.
Mrs. Smith was a midwife for Dr. Mehler and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Zion's Daughters of the church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a 50-year member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include one son, Lawrence "Pete" Smith of Burlington; one daughter, Ethel Miller of Farmington; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 50 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, one grandson, one great-grandson and four sisters.
