Larry Allen Clark, 62, of Flatwoods passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born March 10, 1947, in Flatwoods, a son of the late Doc and Mary Adkins Clark. He worked in maintenance for AK Steel in Middletown, Ohio. He was an Air Force veteran in which he served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Russell First Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer.

He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Gene Clark, George Clark, Walter Clark and Ray Clark; and three sisters, Ruby Evans, Irene Barney and Dorothy Griffith.

Survivors include his wife, Roseanna Vanderhoof Clark; a daughter, Jennifer Gayle Clark of Flatwoods; two brothers, John Paul (Virginia) Clark of Ashland and Cecil (Phyllis) Clark of Flatwoods; three sisters, Jewel Cantrell of Pound, Va., Pearlene Davidson of Middletown and Betty Perdue of Flatwoods; two sisters-in-law, Norma Clark of Flatwoods and Marcella Clark of Valparaiso, Ind., and a brother-in-law, Harlan Barney.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Russell First Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Ken Gowin. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, P.O. Box 91840, Santa Barbara, Calif. 93190-1840 or Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Ave., Ashland, Ky. 41102.

Pallbearers will be Ron Clark, Harlan "Bud" Barney, Ted Slone, Brad Muncy, Donald "Red" Thompson and Bill Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bradford Muncy, Ryan Slone, Casey Slone, Howard Franz, Donnie Ratliff, Bruce "Bull" Stevens and Tom Garrett.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of the arrangements.
