She was born on Apr. 20, 1916 at Cisne, IL to William & Ethel (Conard) Block. She married Glen E. (Bud) Bullard on Nov. 26, 1938 in Kentucky and he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2002.
Ferne retired at age 60 as an elementary school teacher after 34 years. She started teaching in area one room schools, then at Johnsonville and later in 1962 at the Homewood, IL elementary school.
Ferne attended the Willow St. Church of Christ at Effingham, IL
She is survived by: 1 daughter- Judy Williamson,
1 granddaughter- Trisha Balding, 1 Grandson-Marty Williamson and one great granddaughter- Rachel Williamson. Also 1 sister- Hazel Smith; 3 brothers – Harold Block, Glen Block and Jack Block; also several nieces & nephews.
Ferne was preceded in death by: her husband- Glen (Bud), 1 brother – Carroll and her parents.
Funeral Services were held at the Hosselton Funeral Home at Cisne with Bro. Ernie Lewis officiating.
Burial was in the Cisne Cemetery.
