Louisa is in the 1850 South Carolina Census. She and John Allen left Alabama about 1853 and settled in Lee County Texas. By 1870 Census they were living in Lexington, Burleson, Texas. Her husband traveled much of the time and she raised the children and had the entire charge of the farm and family. Owing to conditions incidental to a life in a new country, she had many privations to endure but with noble self-sacrifice she endured them all that her husband might preach the gospel. They were parents of ten children. A daughter Ella Cordella "Delia" Allen was born on the 26 July 1857 in Lexington, TX.(Memorial #8552772)
