My mom... my hero... my angel

Mom gave me a life I'd have never known if it wasn't for her. She stepped up for me, and became my voice when I was too little to have a voice. My birth mother was killed in a car accident when I was six months old. My birth father remarried a woman who didn't want me. My step mother took me across the border into Mexico and tried to sell me. My aunt, who later became my mom, told my birth father that she wanted to adopt me. My father signed the papers and committed suicide. She was the kindest, most generous person I've ever known in my life.

Her second favorite past time was playing the slot machines. We would take a two week vacation each year traveling throughout WI and MN to visit all of our relatives and stopping at ever casino along the way. Above all else, she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She is survived by her children: Mike (Jan), Doug (Beth), and me, Laura. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who she loved dearly: Mike (Miranda), Christina, Elizabeth "Buffy" (Craig), LaDina (Zach), Olivia, Angela, Tony, Jess (Terry), Donna, and Tommy. She was great grandma "GG" to Nova, Leila, Veda, Alyssa, Paetyn, Ellie, Greyson, Devin, Emma, Austin, Eleanor, Molly, Henry, and Sylvia. Two brothers, Ray (Shirley) and Gerald also survive her.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Richard; three stillborn sons, and her sisters, Mary, Bernice, and Irene.

It was her wish to have no service other than a graveside service with family and friends, and brunch afterwards to celebrate her life. Interment will be on August 29, 2017.
