OBITUARY OF CLAUDE H. ALLEN

Final rites for Claude H. ALLEN, 59, who died unexpectedly early Monday morning at his home, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20.

The Services in the First Christian Church, where Mr. ALLEN was a member, were conducted by the church pastor, Rev. Lael Smith.

Interment in Ochiltree Cemetery was directed by Boxwell Brothers.

Serving as Mr. ALLEN's pallbearers were Robert HOLLAND, Phil LaMASTER, G. K. RUPPRECHT, E. R. BELL, Gene STINSON and Chillis GIDLEY.

The honorary pallbearers were Chester COOPER, George RUPPRECHT, Roy BELL, Claude CARMICHAEL, Dwight SIMS, LaRue NORRIS, Rufus BOLERJACK, Sibley JINES, Howard HOLT, Frank HERNDON and Cecil FISKIN.

Mr. ALLEN had lived in Perryton since 1928 and had been a tire dealer until 1963, operating Allen Tire Shop at 400 South Main. After closing this business, he worked for Bryan Tire Company for a short time, then in recent months was with the maintenance staff at Perryton high school.

He was a member of Scottish Rite Masons and the Perryton Lions Club, as well as the Christian Church.

Claude Haggins ALLEN was born June 11, 1905, in Texas County Oklahoma and died at 4:10 a.m. Monday, January 18, 1965, at his home, 602 South Eton.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edith ALLEN; one son, Claude ALLEN Jr. of Stratford; one daughter, Mrs. Miles (Jo Layne) SUMPTER of Borger; two brothers, Leon ALLEN of Guymon and Lloyd ALLEN of Amarillo; two sisters, Mrs. Hiram SALLEY of Liberal, and Mrs. Art LANDIS of Pacoima, California, and five grandchildren, Roger ALLEN of Stratford, Lynn, Larry, Donald and Thomas SUMPTER of Borger.
