Marie Jarnigan, 88, of Russellville, Ala., died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Generations in Red Bay, Ala.
She was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Birmingham, Ala., to Bert and Vera Acton Bailey.
She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, Red Bay, Ala. She was a former member, Sunday school teacher and piano player of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Deaton Funeral Home chapel, Red Bay, Ala., with Brother Raymond Martin and Brother Gerald Hoyle officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala., will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by four children, Roger Jarnigan (Barbara), Red Bay, Ala., Mary Margaret Hoyle (Gerald), Pell City, Ala., Talton Jarnigan (Joan) and Katherine Johnson (John), all of Russellville, Ala.; one sister, Louise Lockley, Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Kermit Bailey (Jeannette), Springville, Ala., and Melvin Bailey (Audrey), Birmingham, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Jarnigan, and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hoyle, Matthew Jarnigan, Jacob Jarnigan, Todd Johnson, David Speer, Carl Baggett and Josh Mitchell.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 12, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala., and will continue until the service today.
