Gifted rock mason, which he learned from his father. Was a police officer for 15 years in Leeds and then Springville, Alabama. Married to the love of his life, Helen Jeanette Pair Bailey for 63 years. Had four daughters, Linda Jeanette Bailey Rutledge, Sharon Helen Bailey Bird, Connie Ann Bailey VanHorn ( buried at Jefferson Memorial Gardens) and Tammy Bailey. Son of Bert Monroe Bailey and Vera Acton Bailey ( both buried in Acton Memorial) Brother to Myrtle Marie Bailey Jarnigan ( buried in Red Bay, AL), Katherine Louise Bailey Lockley (buried in Forrest Crest Cemetery), James Edward Bailey ( buired in Acton Memorial), Joseph Vincent Bailey (Killed in Germany, buried in Acton Memorial), Bertie Lou Bailey ( buried in Acton Memorial), Billy Gene Bailey ( buried in Forrest Crest Cemetery), Bert Carlton Bailey (buried in Acton Memorial), and Melvin Thomas Bailey.
