Clinton Heath was the son of James Heath b. 1800 VA d. 3 Nov 1864 who married 29 Dec 1829 in Cabell Co WV Chloe McComas b. 1808 d. 1864, the daughter of Moses and Lucy (Napier) McComas. Clinton married Susan Margaret Searcy on 5 July 1857. Clinton was born in Cabell Co VA (now WV).

Clinton Heath inherited land from his fathers estate in Platte Co MO, but sold it in 1875 in order to move out to early California with other family members: his married sister Lucinda (Heath) Malott, his widowed sister Elizabeth M (Heath) Laughlin. They had a large family of all born in Platte Co. MO.
