She was born June 24, 1898, in Whiting, the daughter of Nels and Margaret (Telliaferro) DeLashmutt. She married Elmer Edward Dahl on December 25, 1919, in Onawa. The couple farmed in the Whiting area until 1965, when they retired. Mr. Dahl died March 28, 1985, in Newburg, Oregon. Gertrude had been a resident of Pleasant View Nursing Home for four years.
She was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Whiting.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Drozd of Sioux City and Jana Mogk of Springfield, Oregon; two sons, Franklin of Springfield, Oregon and Vernon of South Sioux City; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sons, Donald and Clarence; a daughter, Phyllis; four grandchildren; nine brothers and one sister.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 1991, at the Church of Christ in Whiting with Shawn Walden, Minister, officiating. The organist, Mrs. Jack Jordan, accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Arnold Brenden, in the selections "In the Garden" and "God Be with You".
Bearers were Lyle Mock, Rex Kelley, Larry Waugh, Keith Hall, Willard Norman Dahl, Archie Stubblefield.
Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery at Whiting with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
