Dell E. DeLashmutt, 81, 1721 24th St., died Thur. evening ar a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Mon. at the Wood Funeral Home in Whiting, IA., with the Rev. Jack Heckart of Glendale Baptist Church in Sioux City will officiate. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Whiting.
Mr. DeLashmutt was born 16 July 1892, at Whiting, IA. He married Bertha Fletcher in 1919, in Dakota City, NE. The couple lived in the Whiting & Onawa area, before moving to Sioux City. Mrs. DeLashmutt preceded her husband in death.
Mr. DeLashmutt was a retired employee of Iowa Public Service Co. He served in the Army's Rainbow Division in France during WW I, & was a member of Laurens C. Shull Post 580, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Sioux City. He also was a member of Eagles Lodge in Onawa.
Survivors include 3 sons, Richard of Sioux City, Everett of Conroe, TX., Ronald of CA.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Russell (Betty) Lethcoe of McCook Lake, SD. & Mrs. James (Janeth) Hazelton of Omaha, NE.; 2 brothers, Ernie of Whiting & Marsh of Onawa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ed Dahl of Whiting & Mrs. Jesse Seward of Turin, IA.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
