Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Bean, 77, who died Sunday, July 13, at the home of her son, Olen Bean of Hanna, after a lingering illness, were held Tuesday at the Hawkins Chapel church with the Rev. Frank Lord of Keystone, officiating.

Mrs. Bean became a member of the Baptist church in early childhood and had remained a faithful worker in the church until her death.

Survivors include: five sons, Arva Bean, Eufaula; Vernon Bean, Sallisaw; Argus Bean, Checotah; Berlin and Olen Bean of Hanna; two daughters Beulah McGee and Mamie Turpin, both of Dalhart, Texas; five sisters, Eliza Pollard, Thula Williams, Laura Corley, and Lora Corley, all of Eufaula; and Nancy Yarbrough, of Clarksville, Ark.; three brothers, Silas Kirby, Little Rock, Arkansas; Henry Kirby, Hartman, Arkansas; and Charles Kirby of Eufaula; thirty-five grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bearers were six of her grandsons, Roscoe Turpin, Ralph Turpin, John Dickens, Bertram Bean, Ray Bean, and Charles Bean.

Flower girls were her granddaughters, Ludy Turpin, Mavious Bean, Margie Bean, Ozelle Bean, and Unie Jean Alfred.
