Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Ivy Lee West will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2009 in Oakdale First United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Richard Hinkle officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. West, 82, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Allen Oaks Nursing Home, Oakdale.
Helen was a longtime member of Oakdale First United Pentecostal Church where she taught Sunday School. She sold Avon for many years and was the cafeteria manager for Oakdale Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. West; one son, Clyde Wayne West and five brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss are her son, Keith West and his companion, Belinda Smith of Hineston; her daughter, Lynda Reyes of San Diego, California; her sister, Doris Lambright of Oakdale; two grandchildren, Ashley Dixon and Jonas Reyes, III and two great grandchildren, Juliahna Dixon and Ethan Dixon.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale – Downtown location on Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
