SAMUEL E. SHANER

Samuel Elton Shaner, 79, a retired merchant of Stuarts Draft, died at 3 p.m., Saturday (March 28, 1964) at his home following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Shaner, a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Waynesboro, was born in Lexington, Oct. 30, 1884, a son of the late Jacob H. and Annie Coiner Shaner. He is survived by his wife, Ada Hiserman Shaner; one daughter, Mrs. Carroll (Judy) Grove of Waynesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Coiner and Mrs. Celestine Hanger, both of Staunton; also two granddaughters.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Karl Maier, with interment in Riverview cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be the following nephews; Carle Coiner, Edward Coiner, Wesley Coiner, Boyd Shaner, Francis Shaner, and F.R. Hiserman Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Henkel Sr., W.T. Bradley, Donald McClure, Moffett Black, Ernest Coiner, Casper Coiner, E.W. Barger, George Coiner, W.E. Hodge, Harry Coiner, Hugh Coyner, Charles May Jr., and Gayle Miller.
