Margaret Drum Valentine was born January 24, 1799, in Berks County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Barbara Strasser Drum. She married on July 29, 1817, in Pickaway County, Ohio, to Joshua Valentine, son of Pickaway County pioneers John Henry and Elizabeth Freeze Valentine. They were the parents of 9 children: Samuel, Elizabeth, Levi J., Amos D., George Washington, Jacob, Mary, Andrew and Malinda Valentine. Margaret passed away on February 12, 1867, in Washington Township, Pickaway County, Ohio, and was buried in St. Paul's Evangelical Church Cemtery, Pickaway County.
