Blondell "B.B." Bonds
A former Yazoo Manufacturing and Dutch's Lawnmower employee, he died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 84, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Iuka, Miss. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Sammy David. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dottie and Jay Acaldo, of Baton Rouge, and Sharon and Paul Ivanyisky, of Albany; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Kandace Bonds, of Walker; three sisters, Reba Day, Geneva Woodruff and Leo Baker; two brothers, Leroy and Charles Bonds; grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Paula Acaldo, Michelle and Jeff Langlois, Lance and Michele Ortego, Brandon and Marcie Ortego, Sierra Bonds, Mike and Rheagan Sibley, Sarah and Trey Drude and Brook Zuccarello; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Bonds; parents, Joseph and Esther Bonds; two sisters, Irene Oswalt and Lonette Allen; and a brother, Oren Bonds. Active pallbearers will be Brandon and Lance Ortego, Glen McElroy, Glenn Oswalt, Jimmy Day and Michael Acaldo. Honorary pallbearer is Charles England. He was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church and a former deacon of Monte Sano Baptist Church.
