CORINTH - William Orien Bonds, 89, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at his home. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Corinth. He worked for years in the sawmill industry in Oregon and Colorado. He enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Oleta T. Bonds of Corinth; a daughter, Carolyn Johnson and husband, Bruce, of LaCrosse, Wis.; three brothers, Blondell B. Bonds of Baton Rouge, La., Leroy Bonds of Corinth and Charles F. Bonds of Asheland, Ore.; four sisters, Geneva Woodruff of Iuka, Reba Day of Baton Rouge, La., and Helen O'Brian and Lonette Allen, both of Corinth; grandchildren, Marianne Carlson and husband, John, of Washburn, Wis., and Betsy Johnson of LaCrosse, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esther Bonds, and a son, William Bonds.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time today.
