Barbara Pierce, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, of Tahoka departed this life on July 16, 2009 at the age of 70 years. She was born on August 3, 1938 in Whitney, Texas to Cuel Leon and Frances Laverne (Mahurin) Arnold. She attended high school in O'Donnell and was a lifetime resident of Tahoka. Barbara married Marvin Pierce on September 26, 1955 in O'Donnell. She was a member of the Nifty 50's Car Club and of the Sweet Street Baptist Church in Tahoka.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Connie Braddock and husband Mike of Tahoka and Marva Lovell and husband Danny of Hobbs; one son, Joey Pierce and wife Gena of Lubbock; two brothers, Billy Bob Arnold and wife Donna of Whitney and Rick Arnold and wife Sharon of Cleburne; two sisters, Linda McDaniel and husband Floyd and Sonja Cleveland and husband Dickie, all of Whitney; six grandchildren, April Terrell and husband Jake, Danna Botros and husband Jonathan, Shiloh Braddock, Josh Pierce, Dustin Lovell and Alyssa Pierce; one great-grandson, Cooper Lane Pierce, and one soon-to-arrive, Colt Jacob Terrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Randy Arnold; and one sister, Reta Dorman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Sweet Street Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Long officiating. Interment is to follow at Nevels Memorial Cemetery in Tahoka
