Ingvald Hadland, 80

Ingvald Hadland, 80, died in Whitefish Friday evening. He was born Nov. 10, 1895, in Hadland, Byrne, Norway.

He had received his education in Norway and in 1915, he came to the United States. Shortly thereafter, he purchased a sheep ranch at Circle.

On Nov. 27, 1938, he was married to Margaret MacDonald at Miles City. In 1939, they purchased a ranch at Richey which they operated until selling in 1950.

In 1951, they moved to Whitefish where they purchased the Willow Villa Motel which they had operated since that time. In 1952, Mr. Hadland purchased a farm at Eureka which he maintained for several years.

He was a member of the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church; the Whitefish Moose Lodge and the Tyree Masonic Lodge #136 AF & AM of Richey of which he was a past master.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, on March 24, 1967 and now is survived by two stepdaughters, Mrs. Tom (Bonnie) Larson of Spokane and Mrs. Fred (Jean) Donaldson of Austin, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Vold of Eau Claire, Wis.; a foster Sister, Mrs. Erling (Ann) Vigerstad of Vigerstad, Norway and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Hadland are being planned for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church with the Father Michael L. Jenkins officiating.

Burial will be in the Glacier Memorial Garden Cemetery under the direction of the Austin Funeral Home.
