Funeral services were held in Broken Bow, Nebraska on Monday, August 17, 1970 for Mr. Carl Berry, 76, of Grass Valley, California, who passed away Thursday, August 13, 1970 in the Veterans Hospital in Reno, Nevada. The Govier
Brothers Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements and the funeral was held in their chapel with Rev. Lowen Loren Mullins of the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow, officiating.
Interment followed full military services and rites in the cemetery at Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska, by the local V.F.W. post.
Carl Berry was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 12, 1894 to Henry C. and Grace Z. Berry. During his early years, the family moved to Nebraska City, where he was united in marriage to Agnes Zessin. To this union, three children were born.
In 1922, they moved to Callaway, Custer County, Nebraska, where he was employed by the Electric Company. In 1943, they moved to Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska, where he worked for the Electric Company until his retirement.
He wife preceded him in death in 1954.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Cole of North Palm Beach, Florida, Duane Berry of Omaha, Nebraska and Jack Berry of Grass Valley, California; by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; also by three sisters,
Mrs. Hazel Adams of Sacramento, California and Susie and Olive Berry both of Sparks, Nevada.
Pallbearers at the funeral services were Earl Rama, LeRoy Carr, John Birnie, Lester Larsen, William T. Mohatt and Milan Mike Klingbeil all members of the V.F.W. post in Broken Bow, Nebraska. The Govier Brothers Mortuary had charge of the funeral arrangements for the Berry family.
