FIRST OBITUARY........... for Clarissa Misner Anderson Crosswhite: MRS. CROSSWHITE IS DEAD
Clarissa died at a hospital at Independence, Montgomery County, Kansas at about seven o'clock Wednesday evening. She had been taken there for treatment for cancer of the stomach about a week ago.
Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. J.A. DeMoss from the M.E. Church in Thayer, Friday afternoon at two o'clock.
Mrs. Crosswhite was born in Illinois about 78 years ago and was the mother of seven sons and one daughter, all of whom were at her bedside when she passed away. They are A. E. Anderson, Thayer, Elmer Anderson, Thayer, James Anderson, Neodesha, Delva Anderson, Neodesha, George Anderson, Lafontaine, John Anderson, South Dakota, Ira Anderson, Iola and Mrs. Bertha Sellers, Lafontaine.

SECOND OBITUARY......... for Clarissa Misner Anderson Crosswhite: Clarissa Crosswhite was born in McLean County, Illinois, February 24, 1854. She died at the West Side Hospital in Independence, Kansas, April 11, 1923 at the age of 69 years, one month and 17 days.
The deceased was united in marriage to John William Anderson, February 24, 1872. To this union were born nine children, one dying in infancy. The remaining children were with her during her sickness and death.
She was united with the Friends Church at Farm Ridge near Lafontaine, Kansas. Later in life she was united in marriage with James Crosswhite.
She was a home loving, affectionate mother and was patient, cheerful and enduring through her sickness. The surviving children are James and Delva Anderson of Neodesha,Kansas; George Anderson and Bertha Sellers of Elk City, Kansas; Ira Anderson of Iola, Kansas; John Anderson of Colton, South Dakota and Elmer and Arthur of Thayer, Kansas. Also a sister, Mrs. James Ogden, living in Illinois and two brothers Tom Misner of Kansas City and Jim Misner of Oregon.
