Mrs. Clara B. Whitney 82, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday Jan. 5, 1948 at her home north of Bladensburg. She had been ill several years. She was born at Agency Dec. 3, 1865, the dau. of John Howard & Amanda Tull Bailey. She was married April 12, 1888 to Hubert W. Whitney, who died Dec. 5, 1934. Surv. are five sons Bruce of Ottumwa, Guy L. of Orange, CA, Hugh of Cantril, Howard of Davenport, Eugene of Tacoma, WA and the Rev. Ray S. Whitney of Whick, KY; three daus. Miss Nina Whitney at home, Mrs. Caroline Halferty of Ollie and Miss Ruth Whitney of Waterloo; 14 grch and 3 ggrch. One son died in infancy. The body is at Campbell-Rupp Funeral Home at Eldon where services will be held Friday Jan. 9, 1948 at 2 p.m.. Burial will be in Agency Cem. Pallbearers will be Howard M., Howard W., Bruce, Ray, Hugh and Robert Whitney.
