Joseph Asay, 90, died Tuesday, September 6, 1994 at his home in Lovell. He was the 8th child of Aaron and Myra Hatch Asay, born on June 8, 1904. In April of 1925, he married LeGene McArthur in Salt Lake City, Utah. They resided breifly in Delta, Utah before returning to make their permanent home in Lovell. Employed 35 years for Great Western Sugar Co., he retired in 1969 and continued his hobbies of gardening, fishing, and enjoying a close association with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, LeGene; 6 children, Lenoir of Long Beach, CA, Douglas of Bountiful, UT, Robert, Roger, Diane Jewell, and Myra Sessions, all of Lovell; 2 sisters, Elsie Oberg of Genola, UT and Delsa Rounds of Lovell; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 3 brothers, and 1 granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lovell L.D.S. Stake Center. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
