Daniel Ferguson Asay, 80, retired Lovell farmer and stockman, passed away in North Big Horn hospital Sunday, Jan. 20, at 9:30 a.m.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. in the Big Horn Stake House chapel. Bishop Harris Asay officiated. Burial was in the Lovell cemetery with Haskell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Asay was born Sept. 24, 1882 in Hatch, Utah, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Asay. He was married to Ida V. Hatch Apr. 9, 1903; she died in 1949.

He had lived in Lovell for 60 years and was a member of the LDS church.

Survivors include two sons, Glen of Boyd, Mont. and Viril of Lovell; five daughters, Mrs. Bessie Schurosch and Mrs. Wyoma Pease of Billings, Mrs. Marvin Sessions of Lovell, Mrs. Elda Byrd of Grand Island, Nebr. and Mrs. Irene Grant of Powell; 37 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and several half-brothers and half-sisters.
