Lucille Newell
Mrs. Lucille NEWELL, 47, died Sunday noon at her home, 816 Pontiac street, following an illness of only three days. Death was due to a streptococcic infection of the throat, and was unexpected.
Born July 24, 1897, in this city, the deceased was a daughter of John and Dessa (CRABBS) PASCHALL. She attended Rochester schools and had resided in this city all of her life with the exception of a few years in South Bend.
In 1922 she was united in marriage with Manford A. NEWELL, local police officer, and to this union were born three children, Barbara [NEWELL] and Nancy [NEWELL] at home, and Pfc. John Richard NEWELL, with the U. S. Army in France; all of whom, with husband and parents of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Maletta McELHENY of Peru, survive.
Mrs. Newell was a member and an active worker of the Methodist church, the American Legion Auxiliary of which she was secretary, the Mothers of World War II, and the Rochester Band Parents' club of which she was president.
Final rites will be held from the Methodist church on Tuesday aftrnoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. F. R. BRIGGS officiating. Burial will be made in the IOOF cemetery.
The remains will be in the Zimmerman Bros. funeral home, where friends may call until the hour of the funeral.
