Thanks to a great findagrave friend Steve, he called and spoke with the Caretaker of this cemetery. She noted that C. Elston purchased the plot. Earliest known burial is George E. Elston 1865. Why would Cornelius the father not be buried with his family. My presumption is that he possibly decided to be buried with his first wife who is believed to have died in Illinois - or possibly his parents. Mystery pending resolution. He was living at or near Marmaton, Bourbon County, Kansas when he died and may be buried near there.
