RANDALL WHITTEN
Randall L. Whitten was born Oct. 5, 1826, in Orleans county, N. Y. He moved with his parents to Fulton county, Ohio when ten years old. When grown to manhood he learned the carpentry trade.
In 1850 he was married to Mary J. Walker. To them were born three sons and one daughter. In 1856 they moved to Lucas county, Iowa, where they entered land and founded a home, in which they lived until the death of his wife, which occured February 10, 1901.
Two sons have also preceded him in death: Asa A. of Boulder, Colorado and Chauncey E. of Des Moines, Iowa. One son and the daughter survive: Clara U., of Russell, Iowa and Archie L., of Chigwell, Canada.
In 1901, he and his daughter moved to Russell, Iowa, in which place he resided until his death, which occurred February 14, 1920.
He was a man of noble traits of character, a true citizen, a kind father and friend. He will be missed and long remembered.
