ELLIS -- Paul A. Flax, 77, Ellis, died Monday, May 21, 2007. Mr. Flax was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Ransom. He was a retired telegrapher for Union Pacific Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Sally, of the home; a son, Jerome of Henderson, Colo.; a daughter, Julie Hillman of Ellis; a brother, Joseph of Ransom; three sisters, Martha Peschka of Salina, Sister Doris Flax of Ellis and Catherine O'Hare of Hometown, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A parish wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. today followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary at the church. Memorials may be made to the church, St. Mary's School or a charity of the donor's choice. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Wasinger-Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis 67637.
