James Atteberry was the son of John Bradley Atteberry and Mary Elizabeth Bills-Atteberry. He was the grandson of George W. Atteberry (the 1st) and Joanna Olive-Atteberry. His uncle was James Oliver Atteberry, a twin to his dad. He was married September 8, 1881, to Mary McCorkle. They were the parents of eight children, which are; George Olive, Elmer Lemuel, Neely John, Mary Catherine (Snider), Stanley Henry, Samuel James, Birdie (Jones), and Nellie (Finkbinder). He died of a cerebral hemorrhage, at age 81 yr. 8 mos. 6 da., and he too was a twin, and that of George W. Atteberry, Hopedale Cem., Christian Co. May James rest in peace.
