STANLEY ATTEBERRY
Stanley Atteberry, 54, retired farmer and dairyman, died suddenly at 7 o'clock last night at hime at 2401 S Dollison. He had farmed most of his life until a year ago when he retired from the farm and moved to Springfield and became associated with the Burcham and Killian Real Estate Company.
Mr Atteberry was born in Greene county, the son of James and Elizabeth McCorkle Atteberry, whose parents were pioneer farmers of this section. He was reared in Greene county and attended high school at Ozark and the old Springfield business college. When a young man he spent two years in Colorado, the only time he evr lived anywhere but in this section.
He spent 19 months overseas during WW I and immediately upon his return home was married to Miss Sue Green, a Tennessee girl, to whom he was engaged when he went overseas.
He was a deacon of the South Street Christain church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sue Atteberry; three sisters Mrs. Ray Finkbiner and Mrs Mary Snyder both of Springfield, and Mrs Birdie Jones of Alameda, Cal.; and three brothers, George and Neil J Atteberry, both of Springfield, and James Atteberry of Abilene, Texas.
The sister Mrs Mary Snyder is now in Spokane Wash., where she was called befor New Year's day by the serious illness of her daughter but is expected to return home in time for the funeral of her brother.
Funeral services will be held in the Alma Lohmeyer-Jewell E Windle funeral chapel at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Barton A Johnson officiating and burial in Hazelwood Cemetery.
