Earl C. Whitaker

Earl C. Whitaker, 54, of 2304 Duncan, a well-known Topeka insurance agent and golfer, died suddenly of a heart attack Friday in the 600 block on Kansas.

A live-long resident of Topeka, Mr. Whitaker was born here December 24, 1899. He was associated with the Equitable Life Assurance society for 10 years, and had been a golf pro at the Topeka Public and Security View courses before that.

Surviving are his wife, Esther of the home; two stepsons, Lt. John Schmidt with the Air Force in Hamilton, Calif., and Ensign Willard N. Schmidt, with the Navy at San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Goenour of 315 Western and Mrs. M. Dorothy Cauldwell of Sedan; four brothers, Percy and Frank, both of 125 Roby, Hugh of 421 Western and Charles of 214 Tyler.
