The Richfield Mercury, Richfield Springs, NY, September 19, 1907 ~ Earl Hoke has the sympathy of friends in this village In the death of hit grandmother, Mrs. Catherine Hoke, with whom he has resided since his parents died some years ago. Mrs. Hoke was a sister of the late William Getman, and was among the first settlers here. She married Menzo Hoke, one of the Hoke brothers who were proprietors of the Four Mile Point homes, which, in its day, did a prospering business. Her death occurred on Tuesday last, aged 81 years. Several from this village attended her funeral, which was held from her late home, the Rev. J. A. Howell officiating. Interment in Lakewood cemetery, Cooperstown.
