Obituary:

Mervil E. Ader, 82, a longtime resident of Scio, died Sunday at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

Mervil was born in Leon, Iowa, the son of Lonie and Mary (Moorman) Ader. He moved to Oregon in 1938 and had lived in the Scio area since the early 1950s. He worked in sawmills throughout his career, including Lulays Lumber Mill in Scio, Simpson Lumber Co. in Lyons and 21 years as a planerman at Willamette Industries in Sweet Home. He retired from Willamette Industries in 1986.

Mervil was a member of the Skyline Assembly of God, where he served on the board for 55 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hounding, being in the outdoors and small engine repair.
Mervil married Ruby J. Fuller in Dallas on Nov. 3, 1948.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby of Scio; daughter Catherine Scott of Lyons; two sons, Alan Ader of Lakeport, Calif., and Rod Ader of Lebanon; sisters Evelyn Fuller of McMinnville and Mildred Severyn of Redmond; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Skyline Assembly of God near Scio. A private burial will be in the Franklin Butte Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Skyline Assembly of God Missions, in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. Grant St., Lebanon, OR 97355
