Contributor: JMiller (48877566) - Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday for Robert E. Lee Foster, pioneer resident of Alex, who died Monday afternoon following a heart attack. Rev. Kenneth Tatum officiated in the Missionary Baptist Church at Alex. Mr. Foster was born December 28, 1896 in Dallas County, Tex., and had lived in Alex the past 50 years. He was an employee of the highway department for eight years, retiring in 1945. Prior to that he had been engaged in farming. He had been in ill health the past 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Bessie; one son, D. O. of Alex; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Pollard of Alex, Mrs. Carrie Holbrook of Bradley and Mrs. Pearl Thomas of Pocasset; four brothers, Tom, Bill, Ross and John, all of Alex. Another sister, Mrs. Sally Nolan, died Friday and services for her were held in Alex Sunday. Interment was in Bradley cemetery under the direction of the Chickasha Funeral Home.
