Lucile was one of 10 children of James Allen (1869-1941) and Mary Eliza Jamieson Gorham (1874-1960). James Allen (Jim) was the son of Manaccie C. Gorham (1847-1960) and Cynthia Jane Story Gorham (1848-1927). Jim was a barber by trade. Mary Eliza was the daughter of Pryor Franklin Jamieson (1842-1889) and Lois Isabella Rudd Jamieson (1849-1936). Pryor Franklin (sometimes spelled Prior) served as a Private in Company D-47th Regiment, Alabama Volunteers, for the Confederate States, in the Civil War. All except Lucile are buried in the Shady Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
Before her marriage Lucile worked at the Overall Shop in Opelika, and later at Pensky's dry goods store in Opelika. Lucile was a devoted wife and mother. She also was active in all areas of work in the Baptist Church. In the early years she played the Old Pump Organ and Marion led the singing, and sometimes they sang duets. She was responsible for organizing and directing the first Woman's Missionary Union at Union Grove Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. William M. Arington. The services will be held from the Union Grove Baptist Church with internment at the Garden Hill Cemetery. Rev. Durwood Knowles and Rev. Fred Woodall of Abbeville will officiate. The body will lie in state at her residence on Ridge Road.
