John Louis (Grampa) Bennett, 74, retired farmer of the Owl Creek community, Lucasville Rt. 3, died at 4:35 p.m. at the home of a son, Ernest Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was born Jan. 29, 1874, a son of Charles and Phoebe Kemper Bennett. In 1895 he married Daisy May Grover, who died in 1945.
Mr. Bennett was a member of the Owl Creek Free Will Baptist Church and a former member of the Pike County School Board.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clara Feeser of Springfield, three sons, Ernest & Welty Bennett and Oscar Bennett of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Brushart, Waverly, Mrs. Margaret Robinson of Piketon and Mrs. Cora Fields of Lucasville; a half brother, Frank Bennett of Waverly; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
