Malinda Compton died at her late residence, 720 Highland Avenue, January 11, 1926, at the age of 89 years.

She is survived by the following children, Clay of Independence, C. D. of Salem, Albert of Ponoka, Alberta, Canada, O. W. of Spokane, Mrs. E. A. Bishop of Red Bluff, California, Mrs. Sarah Gregg of Salem, Mrs. Martha Arkinson of Baker. She is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs. Susan Garthick of Maupin, Mrs. D. T. Crabtree of Portland, and Mrs. J. Bilyeu of Jefferson, and two brothers, J. B. Sumpter of Spokane and George S. Sumpter of Clarketon, Idaho.

The funeral cortège will leave the Terwilliger Funeral Home on Thursday morning at nine o'clock and will go to Scio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. H. F. Shanks officiating.
