Pioneer Woman Buried
Mrs. Alice Bilyeu, widow of Jake Bilyeu was buried at Franklin Butte cemetery Wednesday forenoon beside the grave of her husband who died several years ago. The Bilyeu's had lived for many years at The Dalles. The deceased was formerly Alice Sumpter and a resident of the Crabtree locality in her girlhood. Her sister, Mrs. Dave Crabtree survives. She is a resident of The Dallas.

Mrs. Alice Bilyeu, 84-year-old Oregon pioneer of 1853, died here Sunday, Mrs. Bilyeu came west via covered wagon and settle in Linn County, later moving here. Her sister, Mrs. Lavina Crabtree, also lives at The Dalles.
