Arthur Ignatius Bentson (86)b. Dec. 12, 1895 Hutchinson, McLeod County, MN and died Sept. 11, 1982 in Tacoma, Pierce County, WA. He was the son of Niels (Nels) Bentson and Christina Andersdatter, daughter of Ander Sorensen.

Art was a carpenter (general contractor) most of his life and served in the U.S. Army during WWI and WWII. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Art was in the National Guard for 17 years in Sydney, MT and at the approach of WWI in 1941 he brought his Company to Camp Murray, Tacoma, WA. The family moved to Lakeview, WA. He was an Army veteran of World Wars I and II

Augusta lived with Joy, her daughter, when it was determined that she could not live alone. Arthur had died two years earlier. They are both buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Tacoma, WA. Art was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Augusta M., two sons, Ross D. of Federal Way and Allan A. of Anchorage, Alaska; four daughters, Joy A. Martin of Corvallis, Ore., Arlyn L. Allen of Macdoel, Calif., Augusta M. Gannon of Seattle and Joan A. Bocott of Tacoma; three brothers, Gerhardt of Portland, OR, Kelly of Corvallis, OR, and Harold of Sidney, MT,; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grand children.
