The mission of the Washington State Cemetery Association (WSCA) is to locate, document, restore, preserve and protect cemeteries, burial grounds and grave sites in the State of Washington and to provide education and awareness of such places and their care to the public.
Christopher & Cheryl Webber are the directors of the newly formed (2009) Washington State Cemetery Association.
A WORD ABOUT OUR F.A.G. PROJECT:
We have the technical ability to load large amounts of transcriptions and data especially data retrieved directly from cemetery and government offices. This gives us the advantage of getting the memorials built quickly en masse so that family and friends can find their loved ones. Our working objective is to get the data "out there" so that the family members can find their loved ones and work on their memorials.
We will only do in depth research to include on the memorials if they are our own family members or if the association is working a research project for a specific cemetery. Otherwise we will leave the research to the family. Please don't hesitate to send corrections and/or additions.
We are more than willing to transfer your family memorials to you if the transfer falls within Find A Grave transfer guidelines.
A WORD ABOUT OUR F.A.G. PHOTOS:
We tend to be more interested in capturing the data on the markers instead of taking "pretty pictures". (Although pretty pictures are good, too!) Some marker photos will look a little strange because of it. Some of our photos were taken many years ago before we developed a decent working knowledge of photography. We will be working to replace all of those photos as time and the opportunity allows.
We keep original, high resolution copies of all the photos we post on F.A.G. Email us if you would like the high res versions.
All of our gravestone photos may be used for your own research and documentation. Our permission is required before publishing or distributing our photos in any format.
NOTICE!!! PLEASE READ!!
PLEASE do not post duplicate memorials. We are finding dozens of our memorials duplicated in several cemeteries. Please read the site FAQ that discusses duplicates.
If you post marker photos on our memorials, please let us know that it has been added so we may update the memorial with the information in the photo.
