Virginia Kartchner Larkins died on Friday morning, June 12, 2009 at the Apple Tree Assisted Living Center, where she lived happily for the last two-and-a-half years of her life of causes incident to age.

She was born in Blanding, Utah on August 26, 1920 to Ada Cooley and Arza Royal Kartchner, the sixth of eleven children.

She married Clifton James Larkins on November 10, 1939 in Salt Lake City and moved with him to Kaysville, Utah, where she lived for 70 years. Virginia and Cliff have four children: Frank Clifton (Vicki); Gary Lee (Trudy); Robyn Kay Wheeler (Steve); and Michael Ray (Debbie).

She was a loving grandmother to her 15 grandchildren and was affectionately called Grandma "GG" by her 44 great-grandchildren. Our mother's life will always be remembered as one filled with love and service to her family, friends, and co-workers; she was a universal grandmother to many.

She served faithfully in various church callings throughout her life, including President of the Relief Society and MIA, with her calling as an Ordinance Worker in the Bountiful LDS Temple being one of the highlights of her life.

For 25 years she was employed in the school lunch program at Kaysville Junior High School and was admired by her co-workers, the students, and faculty members. Mother delighted in music and loved singing with church choirs.

Other favorite things in her life were knitting, crocheting and quilting. Although she loved traveling with her husband, her immediate and extended family were her greatest joys. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Clifton James Larkins, her parents, eight siblings, and one great-grandson.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Kaysville Tabernacle located on the corner of 200 West and Center Street. Family and friends are invited to say a last good-bye at viewings in her honor at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009 and at the Kaysville Tabernacle from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral Services.
