STUART WALLACE FITZGERALD

STAUNTON - Stuart Wallace Fitzgerald, 95, died at his home, Wednesday, July 1, 2015.

He was born June 5, 1920, son of the late George W. Fitzgerald and Edith Stuart (Smith) Fitzgerald Lotts and stepfather, Finley H. Lotts.

He retired in 1990 after he worked 50 years in his shop where he built reproduction furniture and repaired antiques.

He attended Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church and was a member of the Brotherhood. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Julia M. Fitzgerald; sister-in-law, Emma Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel W. Fitzgerald; sisters, Lorene VanFossen and Betty Colvin.

The family would like to thank Dr. Diana Jensen and staff for their wonderful care, and also Hospice for their gentle care.

There will be no public viewing or visitation.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015, in Thornrose Cemetery by the Rev. Dennis Sites.

Any memorial donations can be directed to the Jerusalem Chapel Brotherhood.

Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
