Rosa Wibbels was born Rosa Wempe in Jefferson County Kentucky. Her mother was Karolina Toby, Wempe, Moeller. Rosas' Father was Felix Wempe from Germany and there is a story told that he drowned from falling into the Ohio river off of a steam boat on the Ohio River. Family said those who were there saw his hat floating down the river. The family posted a $25.00 reward for his recovery, he was never found as far as we know. Rosas' Mother Karolina then married Heinrich Moeller both natives of Germany.
