Johnny Edrington of London, 34, formerly of Campbellsville, son of Jack Edrington and Patty Masden Edrington, was born in Taylor County Sept. 7, 1954. He was found dead at approximately 2:40 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1988, on KY 80 seven miles west of London, while on duty as a Kentucky State Police Trooper. He was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He graduated from Campbellsville High School and attended Campbellsville College and Elizabethtown Community College. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served his country in the United States Army as a military policeman. He had worked with the Campbellsville Police Department and the Taylor County Metro Police Department and currently was serving as a trooper with the Kentucky State Police assigned out of the London Post. He was also a member of the Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue Squad and the Campbellsville-Taylor County Fire Department. He united in marriage to Dianne House on June 3, 1988. Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, Jack and Patty Edrington, Campbellsville; three sisters, Denise Chappel, Campbellsville, Barbara Curtis, Washington, N.C. and Pam Vinson, Millinocket, Maine; his maternal grandmother, Laura Masden, Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24, at the Campbellsville Baptist Church in Campbellsville by KSP Chaplain Steve Owens, Dr. James E. Jones, and Dr. J. Chester Badgett. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Sapp, Sammy Knopp, Jimmy Dale Cox, Johnny Phelps, Jimmy Phelps, and Mike Faulkner. Honorary pallbearers were: Gov. Wallace G. Wilkinson, Justice Secretary Michael Troop, Kentucky State Police, Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue Squad, Taylor County Metro Police Board, Campbellsville Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff's Department, Campbellsville-Taylor County Fire Department 911 Dispatch, Campbellsville Mayor Robert L.
