Glenn Mallory "Bus" or "Buster" Langley, was born
February 7, 1917 to Clarence Oliver and Mary Elizabeth (Tharp) Langley, in Rural Stafford County, Kansas. He was born on his sister, Hazel"s Birthday Day, One year and 15 minutes to the day. When Hazel tried to apply for her Social Security, they had her mixed up with Glenn, which took a long time to fix the problem. Bus was a very good natured person, and well liked in the Pratt and Preston communities.
On November 11, 1942 he married Velma June "Mickey" Brennan at Long Beach, California. Mickey was with the Women's Ambulance and Defence Corps of America.
Bus served in the Medical Detachment 448th AAA AW Battalion from February 1941 to August 1945. He arrived in the States at Presque Isle, ME., after 14 months service
as a Medical Technician in the European Theater of Operations. He had been awarded the Good Conduct Ribbon, the E.T.O. Ribbon with five stars, the Combat Medal Badge and the Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon.
After the war Glenn, Mickey and a son resided in Pratt, Kansas, where Glenn's family was living. In September 1946, Glenn and Mickey divorced, and Mickey and the son moved to California, where her family lived.
August 28. 1954, Glenn married Juanita Cheatwood in Monett, Missouri. They made a home in Derby, Kansas and years later they divorced. But remained good friends for a long time.
Glenn and his brother, Cecil Eugene, moved to Barnhart, Missouri and and bought a nice home together. They both loved to travel, and both drove transport trucks, and was on the road quite a bit.
Glenn, 74, died April 04, 1991 in Barnhart, Missouri, after a long illness fighting cancer and he had diabetes.
Surviovrs include: a son, of Anaheim, Calif.; three sisters, Hazel Bedell, of Dodge City, KS.; Mildred Elringhoff, of St. Louis, MO.; Junaita Dean, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a brother, Cecil Eugene of Barnhart, Mo.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Esther Belle Smith. Cremation was preformed and his ashes were buried April 17, 1991 in The Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri.
