Clara is the daughter of John Murray (1828-1901) and Elizabeth Patience Birckhead Murray (1831-1916). On 29 Dec 1881 in Derby, Lucas, Iowa, she married William Esley Young. They had 7 children: Laura Estella (1883-1937); William Wesley (1884-1917); Robert Esley (1885-1946); George Harrison (1887-1949); Ralph Arthur (1889-1953); Emma Blanche (1891-1968); and James Carroll (1902-1902).
