RUBOTTOM -- Graveside services for Arline Wade, 73, will be at 1 p.m. today, April 29, 2005, at Rubottom Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy May officiating.
Born on March 13, 1932, in Rubottom to John A. and Jessie E. Plemmons Eakins, she died on April 26, 2005, at her residence.

A star softball and basketball player before she graduated in 1952 from Leon High School, she was a homemaker and had been a resident of Love County the past 32 years. She married Marvin Cole Wade on July 2, 1972, in Wilson. She was a Boy Scout leader, active in the Arbor Day Society and was a member of Rubottom Baptist Church. In addition to raising her children, she raised two of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 12, 2004; her parents; a granddaughter, Jessica Hartman; and sister, Betty Carlile.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Sue Pierce, Burneyville, and Richard Pierce, of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Jennet Dugger, Lone Grove, and Jannet and Richard Barber, Burneyville; two grandchildren she raised as her son and daughter, Kris Pierce, Nocona, Texas, and Kerri Williams and her husband, Anthony, Overbrook; a brother, Bill Eakins, Lone Grove; four sisters and brother-in-law, Lois Cartwright, Gainesville, Texas, Bea Cartwright, Velma, Pauline Hodges, Wilson, and Christine and Alton Williams, Rubottom; three grandchildren, Matthew Barber, Marietta, Bobbysue Westervelt, Falconhead, and Steven and Mary Moore, Tulsa; and seven great-grandchildren.

Honorary bearers are Warren Williams, Matt Barber, Kris Pierce, Anthony Williams, Steve Williams, Jerime Williams, Don Cartwright and Tommy Lee.

Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home will direct services.
