WILSON Services for Vinia Pauline Eakins Hodges, 77, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Simon Cemetery.

Born June 15, 1930, at Rubottom to John Alford and Jessie Plemons Eakins, she died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007 at Sterling, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Owen "Bill" Hodges on Sept. 4, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Beatrice Cartwright, Lois Cartwright, Betty Ruth Hodges and Arlene Wade; and four half-sisters, Jewell, Lela, Cora and Ora.

Raised at Rubottom, she married Henry Owen "Bill" Hodges May 6, 1947 at Gainesville, Texas. They remained in the Rubottom area where Pauline was a devoted homemaker and housewife. She loved to cook and cherished being "Granny". Pauline was a member of Ash Street Church of Christ at Wilson.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Dewitt and her husband, Frankie, Sterling; a son, Bobby Don Hodges, Oklahoma City; sister, Christeen Williams, Rubottom; brother, William Edward "Bill" Eakins, Lone Grove; three grandchildren, Kim Hooton, Sterling, Brad Dewitt, Burlington, Colo. and Bethany Hodges, Ada; and four great-grandchildren, Breyona Hooton, Kelby Hooton, Sidney Hooton and Cooper Dewitt.

Bearers are nephews, Warren Williams, Tim Williams, Rick Pierce, Richard Pierce, Meril Hodges and Bobby Gene Hodges.
